Alcoa Foundation Projects
Alcoa brings financial support to worthwhile programs in its communities in Mexico through Alcoa Foundation grants. Here are some recent examples.
- We partnered with HEB Food Bank (BIA) to provide 28,000 kindergarten and grade school students in Acuña and the surrounding rural communities with sweat suits, sweatshirts and T-shirts.
- We assisted in the construction of a Juárez-based education center on property donated by the state,
- We supported construction and pay for some equipment required for Juárez-based maternity clinic.
- We supported victims of a severe flood in Piedras Negras.
- We renovated a shelter for homeless people in Acuña on property donated by the state.
- We supported the inauguration of a nutritional program in Coahuila under which low-income children throughout the state are provided milk at reduced prices.
