Alcoa Aerospace Technology Evolution

  • The Boeing 707–America’s first jet transport–is launched, utilizing Alcoa alloys.
  • Alcoa commercializes a new, high-strength alloy first developed in Germany, alloy 7079.
  • One of its first applications is in the landing gear of the B-52 bomber.
