Alcoa Aerospace Technology Evolution
- The Boeing 707–America’s first jet transport–is launched, utilizing Alcoa alloys.
- Alcoa commercializes a new, high-strength alloy first developed in Germany, alloy 7079.
- One of its first applications is in the landing gear of the B-52 bomber.
