To create a residential building with an aesthetic that would reflect the stylish lifestyles of its occupants, architects designed one of the first large-scale residential buildings in the United States with a façade of corrugated aluminum. Clad with silver corrugated aluminum panels, the Marina Condominiums building is a striking addition to the Madison skyline and has already achieved landmark status.
More than 80,000 square feet of 7/8" corrugated .040 aluminum with a Bright Silver Metallic Kynar® finish were fabricated for the façade and balcony walls. The aluminum allowed cuts and notches to be made where necessary without concern about rusting. The architect turned the corrugated panels on the horizontal to give the tower a more human scale and add texture to the façade.
