Texas’s biggest building project to date, the $1.7 billion, two-million square-foot Terminal D facility at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, incorporated metal materials inside and out for design flexibility and a modern, aeronautical feel.
To create a structure more than twice the size of existing terminals on the same footprint as smaller buildings, architects employed vertical distribution and symmetry that required the flexibility of Reynobond building materials. Inside the towering structure, Reynobond materials were fabricated in several custom and standard colors, forming a palette of soft grays, blue, white and brushed stainless steel to create a feeling of calm. Reynobond Stainless Steel Composite Material with a PE core formed the walls of the terminal’s upscale shopping and dining areas. NOW Specialties recommended the Reynobond Stainless material to provide a cost savings over the material originally specified.
