When the Grand Rapids-based research and development company Workstage teamed up with architect URS to design a series of six new Early Childhood Development Centers for the Detroit Public School System, they sought to create an environment that reflected a tremendous focus on lighting, air quality, sound, technological needs and space. By choosing Reynobond® ACM panels for fascia and coping, the team achieved a smooth, seamless surface that maintained clean, crisp lines throughout all building interiors—creating well-lit, soaring educational spaces.
The 26,000 square feet of Reynobond used throughout the six buildings was installed using the Riverside Group’s R4-300 dry joint pressure equalized rainscreen system. This system eliminates the need for sealants within the panel joints by locating the main seal behind the panels—where they are protected from the exterior elements. The result is a low-maintenance, aesthetically pleasing cladding system with a long service life.
