Q: Does Reynobond®, or any other ACM manufacturer, make engineered panel systems?
Currently only AAP makes an engineered panel system that is specifically made to pass Miami-Dade hurricane requirements. This system utilizes Reynobond with KEVLAR®. Please contact your Sales Manager for details.
Q: Who fabricates your panels — and how do I contact them?
There are several companies that fabricate our panels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Please contact your local Sales Manager for the companies that service your area.
Q: Who installs your panels — and how do I contact them?
There are several companies that install our panels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Please contact your local Sales Manager for the companies that service your area.
Q: Where can I get extrusions to make a panel system?
In most cases, extrusions are proprietary for each fabricator. Simple L-shaped extrusions are readily available through aluminum distributors.
Q: What is a continuous manufacturing process?
Reynobond is manufactured from large coils of painted aluminum and a continuous web of extruded polyethylene. The panels are then cut to length.
Q: Is a laminated composite the same as Reynobond ACM?
No. Reynobond uses a continuous manufacturing process, as opposed to a laminated process. Laminating is essentially gluing the core and skins together one panel at a time.
Q: Does Reynobond have a bond integrity warranty? How long is it?
Reynobond Aluminum Composite Material comes with a standard five-year bond integrity warranty.
Q: What type of equipment is used to manufacture Reynobond ACM?
Reynobond is manufactured using specially designed and controlled rolling, extruding, heating, shearing and stacking equipment in AAP’s Eastman, Georgia, and Merxheim, France, factories.
Q: Does Alcoa have information or on-staff engineers that can help me with local building codes? If not, whom do I need to contact?
We have in-house applications engineers who can assist you with building codes. You may also deal with local fabricators who are familiar with local building code. Please contact your local Sales Manager for contact names and numbers.
Q: Does AAP supply clips, fasteners and accessories?
AAP is a manufacturer of Metal Composite Material (MCM) using aluminum, zinc, stainless steel, copper or titanium. We also produce profiled metal panels on our roll-forming lines, primarily aluminum. We offer a butyl gasket for some of our profiled products. We also have a specialty system, Reynobond with KEVLAR®, which includes all necessary extrusions. We recommend that you use a local supply house for your hardware, fastener, silicone and backer rod needs.
